Stealth Campervan

$80k DIY Volkswagen Stealth Campervan

Jan and Leith ditched their 4×4 and off road caravan and built an under the radar, low roof Volkswagen Transporter 4×4 camper that is their everyday drive and everyday escape vehicle. It cost $80kaud but when you watch the video and hear Leith’s philosophy, you will see why they think it represents great value for them.

While they don’t live in the van full-time, they escape for extended periods and LOVE van life so much they invested $80,000 on their DIY campervan conversion to get exactly what they wanted. This amazingly finished camper looks sensational with only the side awning and solar on roof giving away the stealthy camper possibilities. Leith says the VW 4×4 van body cost $60k aud which included options such as electronic diff lock and raised suspension. The actual fittest was free for labour as Leith and Jan did the fit-out themselves but they did spend a total of $22,000 aud on materials and accessories. Check out this awesome van and get inspiration for your own dream of living the van life. A tiny house has nothing on this much freedom!
